Case No. 9 - Dilli Ram Koirala
Mr. Dilli Ram Koirala, 34 years old male patient with traumatic right hand first metacarpophallengeal fracture dislocation had been travelling all over without medical help for last 30 months. He presented to our centre with the complaint of deformity and weakness on grasping. We decided to help him with our charity fund and surgery was done on the 14 th July, 2004. Open reduction with shortening of metacarpal bone and metacarpophallangeal fusion was done. Stable fixation with 3.5mm cortical screw was accomplished. Excellent fixation and restoration of MCP joint alignment were accomplished. Short arm thumb spica was applied. Pictures before and after surgery have been demonstrated.
